Test Your Configuration

Once you have processed all the settings, you have different options to test your configuration:

• DAF Installation Tool
• Event Viewer
• DAF Manager
• ODBC Configuration Tests
• Setup Summary
• Live Log

DAF Installation Tool

The DAF Installation Tool can generate two listings to report the current status of a DAF configuration. If no error is reported DAF should be correctly installed on your server.

The DAF Installation Tool can be launched:

- With item "DAF Installation Tool" in menu "Start/Programs/Dynamic Authentication Filter"
- By launching "SYSCFG.EXE" in directory "<DAF Directory>\bin"

Event Viewer

When DAF is loaded it sends the message "DAF IIS Filter Started (4.X)" to the NT log system. It can be displayed with the "Event Viewer." If this message is not reported in the Event Viewer, something is wrong, and DAF is not loaded.

DAF Manager

The "DAF Manager" window should be available on the DeskTop Task Bar. This tool displays all DAF databases installed.

ODBC Configuration Tests

The DAF Configuration Tool makes available routine tests. These may be run for each database.

• Tab "ODBC Settings/ODBC Source," button "Test connection"
• Tab "ODBC Settings/IP Address & Tables & Fields," button "Try to read ODBC Source"

Setup Summary

You can also check a summary of your configuration list by IP Address by pressing button "Setup Summary" available on the left frame on the DAF Configuration Tool.

Live Log

A very useful feature is the Live Log. To open the live log window, within the left frame of the DAF Configuration Tool press button "Live Log."

Depending on what you have selected for the log mode different information will be displayed.
