New Features Overview
New Features Preview
With this feature it is possible to attach a different user list to any different Web
domain name (Host Header Name) even if they use the same IP Address. In other words, a
user list can be attached to any combination of "<IP Address>,<Port #>
and <Host Header Name>" which is called a "Web Host." For example, it
is possible to attach a different user list to each of the following six Web Hosts:
This is done simply by creating each Web Host with the "Manage Web Hosts' window
(see below). Once this is done the newly defined Web Hosts will appear in the list of all
IP addresses found on the server and it will be possible to attach them to a user list
like any IP address (see the Setup Summary below).
2. HTML Login Form (IIS 4.0 or newer Only) This feature enables the user of a DAF protected web site to login through an HTML Login Form (see below) instead of the usual pop-up authentication window. The login page is actually an ASP script which can be easily customized. When this feature is enabled, Cookies are used to save the user login and password. Therefore, it is possible to logoff a user during a session, or have the authentication last longer than the current session (see new configuration window below).
The purpose of this feature is to limit concurrent access to a web site using a single Login and password.
