To
register DAF User Database Extension license information, a DAF Engine MUST be
registered. A Valid DAF User Database Extension will be Refused if
no DAF Engine is registered.
To activate a
new DAF License Registration it is necessary to restart
at least one DAF User Database.
Remarks:
- Restarting the NT server will also activate a new License Registration.
- With IIS 3.0, restarting the Web service will also activate a new License
Registration.
- With IIS 4.0, restarting the Web service with the Microsoft Management
Console will NOT activate a new License Registration.
Limited features when
unregistered
When unregistered, all DAF features are active but the number of usable users is
limited to ten users per database.
Each time IIS is restarted, only the first 10 users asking for an authentication
request will be usable, and reusable as much as you want.
This limit is applied after each ODBC request. So, with an unregistered version:
- there is no limit on the number of ODBC data sources you may use to test the product.
- the response time is the same as with a registered product.
