Web User Manager Documentation

Overview

The "Web User Manager" is an ASP application using DAFTools and is usable with your favorite browser.

With this tool you can:

Manage any user from any DAF database:

• Find User (sample screen)
• Add User (sample screen)
• Modify User (sample screen)
• Remove User (sample screen)

Run the Web User Manager according to two modes:

• Main Administrator Mode: This mode gives access to any DAF database.
• Database Administrator Mode: This mode gives access to only ONE predefined DAF database. With this option the NT server administrator can safely delegate the administration of each DAF database to a different person.

For example, on a multi-homed IIS server using several DAF databases, a classical configuration would be to use two copies of the Web User Manager application:

• One copy to be used by each site owner with database administrator mode.
• 
  (Each site owner will only have access to the site's own database.)
• One copy for the NT server administrator, which will be configured to run with Main Administrator mode.
• 
  (The administrator will have access to all DAF databases for client technical support.)

Reuse and modify the Web User Manager:

Since this application is developed with ASP scripts and DAFTools it can be easily modified to implement custom features or used to extract sample lines of script to perform a specific DAF related treatment.
